Ravi Sarode is a holder of the John H. Childers, MD, Professorship in Pathology. He is Professor and Chief of Pathology, Medical Director of Clinical Laboratory Services, and Medical Director of the Division of Transfusion Medicine and Hemostasis at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, USA.

Dr. Sarode has been actively involved in both basic and clinical research in a number of areas. He has been principal investigator in more than 10 clinical trials, including one comparing prothrombin complex concentrate with plasma for urgent warfarin reversal. He has published over 120 journal articles, 10 book chapters, and many scientific abstracts. He is an editor of the Journal of Clinical Apheresis and is on the editorial board of Transfusion Medicine Review. He is also a reviewer for several journals, including The Lancet, JAMA, British Journal of Haematology, Transfusion, Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Thrombosis Research, and Clinical and Applied Thrombosis/ Hemostasis. He is a past president of the American Society for Apheresis (ASFA) and is a member of the Advisory Committee on Blood/Tissue Safety and Availability, advising the United States’ Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services.
